Introduction to the ANTI_ Department
The ANTI_ Department is a space for everyone committed to challenging gender-normative structures and advocating for a university that is inclusive, supportive, and free from discrimination. We represent the interests of agender, non-binary, trans, and inter_ individuals, work to increase their visibility, and fight against both institutional and societal barriers.
We recognize that the university is not a neutral space – gender diversity is often ignored, marginalized identities are made invisible, and bureaucratic hurdles make self-determined living more difficult. That’s why we see ourselves as a political point of contact that not only provides information and advice, but also actively demands change.
What We Do
- Political Advocacy: We work towards more gender-inclusive structures at the university – including accessible name changes, gender-neutral restrooms, and discrimination-sensitive curricula.
- Awareness & Empowerment: We organize workshops, discussion spaces, and safer spaces where experiences can be shared, knowledge strengthened, and strategies for everyday life developed.
- Counseling & Support: If you experience discrimination or need help navigating bureaucratic challenges, we’re here for you.
- Community & Networking: A space for exchange, mutual support, and solidarity.
Please note that some of our events are not open to cis men. This is not exclusion for the sake of it, but a deliberate decision to create protected spaces where FLINTA_ individuals can safely connect and support each other.
Library & FLINTA_ Safer Space
On the top floor of the AStA Villa, you'll find the Pinky – a FLINTA_ safer space that is available to all FLINTA_ students during AStA opening hours upon request at the office. This is also where you’ll find our queer feminist library, offering a wide selection of books and magazines that you can borrow at any time.
Counseling
As part of our queer feminist peer support, we provide contacts and addresses for various support services. Whether you're looking for information on (gender)queer events and spaces in Berlin, coming-out processes, safer sex, or support groups and counseling centers – we're here for you. If you've experienced queer- or transphobia or sexualized violence, you can find support both with us and through the queer feminist peer support network.
We look forward to your visit!
