Dear students of FU,

we invite you to join our event on "how to file an application for the ticket fee" on Feburary 05, 12 pm at GalileA. 

What is this subsidy? 

• We refund the money you paid for the semester ticket
• the ticket stays available for useage
• every student can file an application, on only basis that you paid for the ticket and that there is at least on hardship given, that can be proven (hardships contain e.g. low income, single parenting, pregancy, bafög)

What to expect of this event? 

Every single deportation is one too many.

We are stunned and angry at the imminent deportations due to protests at the FU campus. We demand an immediate stop to the deportation proceedings and an end to the criminalization of migrants and political activists!

Dear students of the FU,

An e-mail has just been sent out with the latest information on how to download the semester ticket
for the coming semester.

Many of you have already tried this and found that it is not yet possible. You are not alone in this,
and you didn't do something wrong, because the technical implementation is still being worked on at the moment
and the e-mail was therefore sent too early.

We apologize for this confusion.

Free University of Berlin, 17.02.2025

Last week, the president of the so-called "Free" University of Berlin, Günter Ziegler, announced that the event "Conditions of Life Calculated to Destroy: Legal and Forensic Perspectives on the Ongoing Gaza Genocide" featuring Francesca Albanese would not be allowed to take place in person on the university campus. The General Student Committee (AStA) of the "Free" University is outraged by this decision and is organizing an alternative event at the scheduled time to take academic exchange into its own hands.

On March 6, 2025, we mark the 35th anniversary of the passing of Mahmud Azhar. We warmly invite you to join us in remembering him and taking a stand against forgetting racist violence. The commemoration will take place at 12 PM in the foyer of the Institute of Biochemistry at Thielallee 63.

The Senate is cutting a third of all the funding for studierendenWERK Berlin, a total of 7.5 million euros. This is stated in the Senate's supplementary budget for 2025, which will particularly affect poor students, international students and students with children. 

Dear students,

We would like to comment on the new contract for the Deutschlandsemesterticket. As representatives of the student body, we have decided to sign the contract presented to us for the winter semester 2024/2025. This means that there will continue to be a jointly financed semester ticket valid throughout Germany for all FU students, and the price of 29.40 per month will remain unchanged.
