Detailed statement regarding the police eviction of the protest camp at the FU on 7th of May 2024

On May 7, a protest camp of groups in solidarity with Palestine at the FU got evicted by the police. Over the last few days, we have held numerous discussions to reconstruct what exactly happened on that day and what we think the consequences should be.

Statement regarding the eviction and police brutality on the 7th of May 2024

This morning, the theater courtyard in the Rost- and Silberlaube at the FU was occupied by activists in solidarity with palestine. As far as we know, the university ordered a police eviction within a very short time without giving any notice. A massive police force then evicted those involved in the occupation, also using physical violence. Outside students and observers also experienced police violence in front of and inside the university buildings.

Statement der LandesAstenKonferenz Berlin zum Deutschlandsemesterticket

It has now been almost two months since the Deutschlandsemesterticket was approved by the federal and state governments. The first contracts have been submitted to the student bodies, and for some of them the Germany Semester Ticket is already a done deal. Nevertheless, the Berlin student bodies are not entirely happy with the new ticket, as it still causes too many problems in some areas.

Open letter for the Berlin Semester Ticket – published on November 1, 2023

Dear Berlin Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment, Dear Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association (Verkehrsbund Berlin Brandenburg, VBB),

With this open letter, we call on you to comply with our demands for the preservation of the solidarity-financed semester ticket.

On 23 November 2023, the student general assembly "Gemeinsam gestalten, gemeinsam bestreiken" ("Create together, strike together"), took place, organized by TVStud FU Berlin and the AStA. The following are its demands:

1) University without Tutorials?
Together with students, student workers and scientific workers, the university should be disrupted to the maximum. Additionally, creative approaches to student teaching should be tried. We want to find good agreements as to not interfere with one another.

Joint Statement of the RefRat, the faculty student initiative of the IAAW and the AStA of the FU

Dear students, faculty and staff of the Humboldt-Universität,

We would like to take a joint stand as the faculty student initiative of the IAAW and the council of lecturers on the current accusations against Andreas Eckert as well as on the problem of abuse of power at our university. This statement follows on from the previous communication from the RefRat on the case of Dr. Andreas Kohring and underlines our position on this issue.
